How to Setup IPTV on MAG Box & Linux STB (Stalker Portal Guide)
Configure Infomir MAG 250-540 and Formuler receivers with dedicated Stalker Portal middleware and physical remote keypad navigation.
Dedicated Linux set-top boxes like the Infomir MAG series deliver the authentic cable and satellite set-top box feeling: instant power-on directly to live TV, physical remote with numerical 0-9 channel keys, and dedicated hardware decoding. Setup is handled via your device MAC address.
Tested & Compatible Hardware Models
The Traditional Set-Top Box Experience
For users who prefer a traditional TV experience without dealing with app stores, logins, or software updates, Infomir MAG devices are unmatched.
When you turn on your TV, the MAG box powers on directly into full-screen television with zero latency. Channel zapping takes less than half a second, and pressing numerical buttons on the remote immediately jumps to that channel number.
Step 1: Locate Your Device MAC Address
MAG boxes use a hardware-locked MAC address rather than a username and password. The MAC address always begins with `00:1A:79:`.
You can find this 12-character identifier in two places: 1. On the physical sticker on the underside of your MAG box (labeled 'MAC: 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX'). 2. On-screen via Settings > System Information > Device Info.
Ensure you provide this MAC address during checkout or to TurboTV support so our servers can authorize your portal access.
Step 2: Configure the TurboTV Stalker Portal URL
Turn on your MAG box without an ethernet cable, or press the 'Setup' button on your remote as the box boots to access the Inner Portal.
Open System Settings
From the inner menu, navigate to 'Settings' > 'System Settings'.
Select 'Servers' > 'Portals'
Click on 'Servers', then select 'Portals'.
Configure Portal 1
Set the parameters as follows: • **Portal 1 Name**: TurboTV • **Portal 1 URL**: Enter the exact Stalker Portal URL provided in your activation message (e.g. `http://server.xyz:8080/c/`).
Leave Portal 2 Empty
Leave Portal 2 blank unless you have a secondary backup service.
Step 3: Save Settings & Reboot Device
Press the 'OK' or 'Save' button on your remote to save your new portal settings.
Press Back to return to the main System Settings menu, then select 'Restart portal' (or power cycle the MAG box).
Your MAG box will display the TurboTV loading bar. Once loaded, you will see the full Stalker middleware menu with TV, Video Club (Movies), and Series.
How to Resolve Common MAG Portal Errors
• **'Your STB is blocked. Call the provider'**: This indicates your MAC address has not yet been registered or expired. Verify that the MAC address entered matches the sticker exactly. • **'Page loading error'**: Check your internet connection (Ethernet cable must be firmly plugged in) and verify that the Portal URL spelling (including `http://` and trailing slash `/c/`) is 100% accurate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to type a username and password on a MAG box?
No! MAG boxes authenticate exclusively via your hardware MAC address. Once registered, the portal loads automatically on every boot.
Can I connect my MAG box via Wi-Fi?
MAG models ending in 'w3' (such as MAG 540w3) feature built-in dual-band Wi-Fi. For standard models, a wired Ethernet cable or compatible Infomir USB Wi-Fi dongle is required.
